The Apricot is a species of Prunus (P armeniaca)
classified with the plum in the subgenus Prunus. The Apricot was first cultivated in China in about 3000 BC.

Mascot: Our earliest apricot. The red blush on this apricot looks spectacular against the rocky hillside. Picked in late December through to early January.

Clutha Gold: Another of the Clutha series, this apricot has become an industry standard. Tastes well and travels well. Harvested mid January to mid February.

Vulcan: Susceptible to frosts at bloom but a large apricot harvested at the same timing as Clutha Gold.

Alex: A good size of apricot harvested late January to mid February.

Clutha Fire:

Clutha Star: Tastes well and travels well. Matures later than Clutha Gold

Genevieve: This variety is the first commercial variety of the Nevis series bred in Central Otago by John McLaren and marketing by Le Fresh International Ltd. Matures late February, eats well.
